Caromb 12 km from Carpentras - Population 3139 - 185 m above sea level
A fortified village huddled within its
walls, built on one of the last buttresses of Mont Ventoux on the
foothills of Paty. The village, its old roads, its secret passages,
its fountains, the belfry… all testify to an active and rich
community. To see and visit: the 16th century Romanesque church of St Maurice, the ramparts, an organ from 1701, the 16th century belfry that stands over the village and the Chapelle des Pénitents Gris (now a concert and exhibition hall). Suggested Activities: walking and mountain biking.
